| 12 yr old daughter with scoliosis
My 12 year old daughter was found to have a "curve" in her spine at a school check up (I really hated those) Because her insurance doesn't go into effect until May 1, I took her to a chiropractor (a friends dr.) the doctor was amazed at how she was her top is 21 lower 34. My question, I have read that usually 1 year before the 1st menstrual cycle, and 1 year after is when the spine curves the most, well, she hasn't started yet which scares me knowing it is going to curve more. I am sure they will put her in a brace, but I am really contemplating surgery if it is an option, (they consider that at 45) because she is so young, she would probaby heal quicker. I have read that some kids where a brace for 4-6 years and then have surgery anyways. This is heartbreaking to me that she even has this I am scared, I try to make it like no big deal for her and am strong when I am around her about, but it is constantly on my mind. My husband and I recently seperated so I really have no one to share my feelings and fears with. If there is anyone who can give me advice and hope please reply. Thanks
