Hello, I am 16 years old and constantly for about a year now I have pain in my back. Some times it will be sharp pains and others not. It's usually in the lower part of my back but at times the whole thing. If I sit with good posture I dont notice it much, but if I bend or turn it hurts. Its not all the time that it happens but alot of the time. At night when I sleep I have to put a pillow under my stomach to keep my spine at the same level as me head, by the way I sleep on my stomach. Ive told my mom and we are gonna try and get it checked out, but I was really wondering if any of yall could help me here. Thanks.
Sorry your having pain so young. You really NEED to get a dr's appointment and get things checked out - nobody here can really tell you what's wrong - could be nothing too serious, But it's NOT normal to have any indiagnosed pain for a year
Get an appt as soon as possible ~
and please keep us posted on how your doing.
fisherman, Hey you really need to get it checked out. I too have had bad back pain since I was younger than you I have worked my body into the ground since then (thought it was just normal muscle pain). Now I am 25 and have a herniated disk and a bulging disk. If I would have had an MRI back then then i would have know what problems i have a maybe could have prevented more injury. When i look back at all the stupid things i've done, I know i would have never even attemped them if i knew i had these problems. Good luck, the sooner you know the problem the better off you will be.
Thanks guys, but my moms still like "Well its probably nothing, I have back pain all the time and you dont see me wining about it". But Ill get back to you if I find out what it is.
Do you see your regular doc periodically? If so, ask them if they would check it out or refer you to an ortho or neuro spine doc. Some doc's have their own x-ray on site and if they see that it is something with the spine will quickly refer you out to a specialist.
Hey, even if you have to see your doc for any other reason, don't forget to ask them about your back. Realize that some of us adults have had to push on, even when we've had pain or simply discomforts we called pain. However, until someone has actually had back problems, they have no idea what back pain is.
Hope you will let us know how things are going for you.
