I am continuing to experience a great deal of pain and inflamation in and around the bone donor site. This has been a problem for some 15 years now however it appears to be getting worse as time goes by. It prevents me from being able to get up and about and walking becomes extreemly difficult. I have attacked it with a range of treatment options such as P/T, quartazone (excuse the spelling) injections, massage, hydrotherapy, etc. Has anybody else had this problem and if so what have they tried and what has or has not worked - Any suggestions would be very welcomed
Re: Illiac crest donor site pain - 15 years on help
I have had ct scans but I have never had an exray of the actual graft site. GP & Specialist refer to the problem as donr site morbidity and it is said to be common hence the move away to using artificial bone grafting properties. There has been a great deal of reserch in relation to the problem but little in relation to the way of actually addressing it. I was hoping there was someone who has found a way of better managing the problem
