Hi, I'm a 19 yr. old female and I'm having horrible back pain in my lower back. Well, it starts in my lower back and works it's way up to the middle of my back. It feels like a mass amount of pressure and numbness, as like your hand were to fall asleep or something. That's what the numbness feels like. If anyone knows what could be causing this please feel free to let me know. Thank you. ' Trista

I am NO expert but it sounds like a problem with a disc this is how mine first felt. I wouldn't waste any time in getting to the dr and finding out your young and hopefully it will only be something that time and maybe physical thearpy will help, without proper testing there is no way to give you a diagnosis.

Linda is right...this could be a disc. Or it could be bad muscle strain. You need to check with your pcp and ask him about an MRI..That will tell if you have a disc problem. A regular x-ray will not.
