Question Will this ever go away??

Hello
I posted a few weeks ago about sciatic pain with toe numbness...my toes go from numbness to normal. Sciatic pain is better this week, horrible last week. I cannot sit for long, stand for long...be in one position for very long, the pain is a burning sensation between my shoulder blades. I am on vicoden es and muscle relaxers.........i had mri last Thursday. I called Dr yesterday and they scheduled me to see Nurse Pr on Wed....thats the soonest they can get me in. I picked up a box about 6-7 weeks ago...and few days later this started. (I have always had sciatic pain, but not as severe). I keep hoping to wake up and not be in pain, be able to sleep thru the night....am i dreaming??? I have read many posts....I have not gone thru half as much as many of you. 7 Weeks into this and i want to pull my hair out.....it may take the pain from my back, but with my luck it will cause another part of my back to hurt. Thanks for listening.

Hi Nean,

What did the results of your MRI indicate? You mentioned that you had sciatica in your legs with intermittent numbness in your toes, as well as a burning pain between your shoulder blades.

As QuietCook suggested, have you seen a spine specialist or was the MRI done by your PCP?

Nellie

Re: Will this ever go away??

I get my mri results tomorrow.
So, even if the mri comes back normal, i still should persue????? I live in a rural area and to get anywhere, its atleast 1 hour drive.
I have had sciatic pain down both legs since i can remember...I am 38 now. When i was a little kid i used to cry at the grocery store because i didnt want to go down the isles with the freezers in it.....it made my legs hurt worse.....i also remember waking up at night with leg pain and my Dad putting me on this recliner which elevated my legs. I was never seen as a child for the problem, my parents probably thought it was growing pains????

I am seeing the nurse pr to get the mri results, and get my pain meds refilled.
I suspect that if there is anything on the mri he will refer me.

Thank you for your advice, which i will take. (my heating pad is turned off)

thanks nean
