Might be off to the O.R this morning

Hi everyone
I will start this with, I mowed the lawns 2 days before I got my test results back about my herniated t6/7. on our ride on lawn mower. Of course u have to twist u back and pull up this lever then push it down to empty the catcher. Must've done this 50 times that day. not knowing my results.
Well since that point I have been getting progressivly worse with my legs getting weaker my arms in spasams by bladder not emptying, the pain etc etc.
Went to see the doc yesterday and he is quite concerned, and has arranged for me to go to the O.R as long as my spine specialist oks it. Well I am kinda shitting myself at this moment as I was not and am not prepared for surgery, this is what my doc is telling me will happen more than likley.
So I am a little scared at this point and could use some support and some prayers
Thanks
Lee

Re: Might be off to the O.R this morning

I am so sorry to hear about this. How upsetting and confused I'm sure you are right now. First take a deep breath and know that you need to do what you think is best...not what the doctor says...what you think and feel is the best for you. If you are in as much pain as you say that you are in and if its not getting any better....then maybe your only option is to get instant relief from the surgery he is wanting you to have. What exactly did he say and what does he want you to do? What are you waiting on? I wish I could be more help...just know that we are here and are sending hugs your way. Lots of prayers and love as well.

Re: Might be off to the O.R this morning

Thanks Diva
Apparently my spine specialist is very particular about his patients and dosent like any other doctor to treat them unless he gives the O.K. I think that means anytype of treatment not just Surgery.
So My doc is waiting to hear from him this morning. Then I will know if I am off to the O,R.
My Doctor cant control my pain levels anymore without it being a narcotic so I that is why he is sending me. Even pethedine injections only just take a bit of the edge off.
I think he is hopeing to get me some help with my pain. He is a brilliant doc and has my best intrests at heart.

Well then you should be in good hands then. I'll keep you in my prayers today and please let us know what happens to you. I hope that if you do have to have surgery right away...that your pain will be taken away as an end result! Much luck to you and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that good news will soon come to you over that phone of yours!

I'm so sorry for you Ihope thatyou have a dr youtrust and specializes in the thoracic spine as this is such a surgery to go through, I have cord comp. at the T7-8 and have been told it's not operable and that thoracic surgery is very difficult to say the least.
Please let us know what you find out and know you are in my thoughts and prayers.
