Thorasic back pain, stomach disorder
I have posted here many times over the last 6 months about my back problems. I was diagnosed with Thorasic Facet Joint Syndrome. My Mri, x ray and triple bone scan were all normal. I have had 5 facet blocks, Radiofrequency Neurolysis. I also happen to be bulemic, and have had a problem with it for over 15 years. I asked my docs if the vomiting was causing the pain in my back. They said it certainly doesn't help, but was not the source. I began recovery( I am on the ED board too). The times I felt the least amount of pain was when I stopped vomiting. I was pain free for 5 days, after a facet block, and of course I thoght it was from that, but I wasn't vomiting. The pain came back anyway. I have started a holistic approach to my pain now, and I went to a holistic massage therapist. She said that abdominal muscles (Rectus abdominus) are trigger points for Thorasic back pain.
For those of you getting injections and RFS and other treatments for the spine, have had normal tests, but still have no relief, talk to your doctor about possible gastointestinal or abdominal muscular problems.
I see my physiatrist on Tuesday. I am definitely going to bring up this issue.
