MRI vs CT for cervical bone spurs

I have had 3 cervical MRI's, my condition is slowly getting worse.
I have forimnal narrowing at c5/6. The physician wants a CT Scan. I have delayed because of radiation exposure (3 floroscopy proceedures and extensive dental work in past year). I read CT of neck is about 8 months worth of radiation at once.

I know the CT will show better bone imaging, but how much better? Can bone spurs show on a CT that are "missed" on MRI?

I read a case study where a sequestered disc fragment (not bone as I recall) was entirely missed by MRI as it was hidden by other tissue, but was clearly visible during sugery and turned out to be a major part of the patients problem.
