Question Post Fusion and I hear cracking and popping

So you guys know that I am post fusion at L4/L5

I've been hearing cracking and popping in my low back. Just now, while I am lying in bed, I heard and felt a bunch of cracking when I lifted my leg. What is that?

The doc says it could be an instability or just soft tissue. What has your experience been?

I do have pain and just now I felt some sensation in my toes when I heard the cracking. The thing is I've had a lot of X-Rays so I don't want to jump into getting another one.

I hope someone can give me some hope.

Thanks
-JB

Re: Post Fusion and I hear cracking and popping

I heard it when rolling over and my doctor and PT both said it was the rest of my spine adapting and the joints getting stiff. Don't know in your case but I hope it helped.
Blessings,
Michelle

I hope that is all it is. Are you a fusion patient? If so how long ago was your surgery?

Re: Post Fusion and I hear cracking and popping

Hey JB , I noticed at night when I turn over on my side some times I get this sharp pain down my right leg and it's been crunching to. I hope its nothing serious. I had noises before and my Dr. told me it was scar and soft tissue moving around also..

Talk to your Dr. Yeah I'm post fusion

JB sounds pretty bad. If I lean forward I go numb or my foot gets a shot of electricity through it. No muscle ripping. Sure its muscle ?

Re: Post Fusion and I hear cracking and popping

I have no idea. About a month ago I was sitting on the edge of my bed and leaned forward and felt a crack. Last week I went to get out of my office chair and pushed up off of the arm rests and felt a "pop" in the low back... I don't know if these are good things, bad things, or nothing to worry about. I am just trying to avoid more x-rays at this point. I've had 6 xrays and two ct scans since February because I was overly paraniod. The last CT/Myelogram was done on August 25th and everything looked good... however, on 9/15 I was in the car with my ex (<- replace with as many profanities as possible) and she got mad at me and slammed on her brakes twice while I was in the passanger seat. I was jolted forward a bit and don't know if anything got messed up.
