Hi ALL,
Oh my Gosh I feel wonderful! Sore in my back where they put the trial stimulator but, Praise the Lord (I mean this) my leg pain, foot and toe pain hip pain too is gone!! I am so amazed! Went to the Dr. for a follow up today from the surgery on Monday (2-26) he said things look great the dressing on my back looks great!
On Tuesday March 6 I am having the battery implanted in my belly on the left side.
The Lord answered so many prayers for us the Dr. only had to use one lead wire thought he was going to have to use two. He told us today that he got right in the middle and he is so pleased it is controling both legs clear to the toes and also the lower back!
The Dr. told me today the I will be hurting (surgical pain) in my back and belly from the battery implants on Tuesday. That too will pass! I asked when I could get weaned off of the pain meds and he said let's wait until after the final surgery because you will need to stay on pain meds because of the final surgery. I just can't say enough on how great it is to be out of leg, hip,toe and heel pain and low back pain also! Thanks all for praying please keep me in prayer on Tuesday (3-6) as I have the final part of the SCS surgery! Dr. said I will be pretty sore for a few days after surgery but, I know that will pass! Thanks all!
Love you guys

This is wonderful news!!! Congratulations. I know this will make Shawleys day to know someone who has had this done and is having such a positive outcome.
Pooh Lady , Thats is great new's for you and me .
Please let me ask now that it has helped you...Mostly important ,did it hurt putting it in ? I told my PM Dr. I wanted the paddle leads but he said they have to be surgically implanted by a specialist..I heard they cover more area?
What implant is it ? I know there's 2 different names of med untins and ans ?? Please tell me everthing they did to you..From the begging , shot to relax ? what ?? Sorry I'm so impatient.
I'm glad it's working Praise the Lord is right Pooh ,
No more pain..I'm weening from my meds now ,maybe I should have waited ????
I was very in and out of it on the OR table. they put some versed and fentynal in the IV. had some soreness after the first part (trial) They have to keep you awake to make sure they the leads in the right place. It was not bad as I thought I was afraid because I would be awake but, truthfully it was no bad at all!
I got coverage for my pain from my back clear down my legs and into my toes! The worse part for me was the waiting and the unknown! The second part on Tuesday will be a breese because I will be having a general anesthetic. I hope this was some helpful for you. If you have have anything else you want ask me feel free ok? Hope this was helpful to you!
I pray you get RELIEF from your pain in Jesus name!
Love & Prayers,
Kelly (Pooh lady)
Praying and believing with you for SUCCESS!
PoohLady,
So their putting you our for the permanant stim implant ? That would be good news. Thats great your getting all that relief..Are you getting the paddle leads ? I'm going to ask my surgeon for them..The Dr. I seen today say's he doesn't use them because you need a surgeon to put them in. I think you would get better results from them ? So it wasn't bad eh ? Ok I feel better now. I just ask my attorney if workers comp will pay for this , he said yup don't worry about them
I get the best care under w/c I was in ICU for my last surgery for 6 day's , my blood pressure was pretty low I guess , some of the nurses were ready to wheel me out in the streets and leave me..lol I like to kid around with people ,some of them woman took me serious and got mad , one younger nurse came over to me and said Shawley your one crazzy dude..All this goofyness after a major surgery ? She was very nice to me ,alt of them were to. Nice hospital..
I Thank you for all your help pooh , your such a nice person
Hey Shawney,
The second part (final) is done by my neurosurgeon I'm not sure about the paddle leads? All I know is that the pain management Dr. who did the first part told hubby and I that the neurosurgeon had to do the final part of the surgery. So if I had to guess I would say yes that paddle leads are being put in.
I'm glad that I could help you out a little!
I do know that the implant is made by medtronics.
Your story about being funny with the nurses reminds me so much of my Dad!
I'll keep checking the board to find out how you did. Your trial is being put in on March 8th right?
Take care & God Bless!
Praying for you,
Kelly (Pooh lady)

Thats fine I been called worse names than that..
I go on the 8th to speak with a doctor that my surgeon wants to put the trial in ,he referred him to me ,but I went to my old doctor to see how many he has done and what he does ,so this way I have info on both doctor's on this stimulator..AND I will pick the very best one. The paddles are wider than the regular leads, they can only be put in by a surgeon( spine)
They connect them to the spine with clip's from what I heard they don't move this way?
I haven't chose the doctor who will do this yet , I'll know on the 8th who is going to do it. Yes I can become the mighty worrier at times.
