1st 15 minutes on the eliptical 1 month post op

Well 1 month from surgery( Selective Endoscopic Discetomy.) I just finished 15 minutes on the elipitical machine. Besides being exhausted. No Back pain!!!! My legs feel like jelly. My right foot isn't working great yet, but I hoping it will get stronger.
It is exciting but, I still have to 2 more discs to be operated on. I'll wait till summer. But this is encouraging. Couldn't do this with the first discetomy (5 yrs ago microdiscetomy) After all the doctors, bad diagnosis, failed back syndrome, pain meds and tons of PT maybe some relief.

Awesome!!! I have been reading some say epiletic others say treadmill, I never had tried the first and need to buy one or the other don't know what my doc will say.

Good news for you, I am sure you will get stronger everyday.

Re: 1st 15 minutes on the eliptical 1 month post op

If I walk on the treadmill, I will be in the hospital. The eliptical machine there is no bouncing or shock to the legs. Also, it burns 2X the calories. You know when you have been Bed/Chair for 4-5 months, it is so tough to get stronger. With each surgery, it is getting harder to get back to that level you had before.
