Question Foraminotomy/ Laminectomy

Well, I had my surgery Saturday 3/3/07. I woke up in great burning pain. The nurse started giving me a shot a little at a time until I was fully awake. They said that me being under for 1-1/2hr. That I may for get to breathe. I was in the hospital over night.
I am still very sore, but I can feel a difference in the numbness in my foot.
Can only set a little at a time and then get up and walk.
Sleeping is a little hard trying to turn over.
What might happen next? Anyone have a clue?
Thanks,
Mary

Re: Foraminotomy/ Laminectomy

Are you sleeping with a plastic trash bag under you? This will help you slide easier in bed making moving to your side easier.

Remember to follow your doctors instructions: no bending, no twisting, and no lifting. When I had my laminectomy a year ago, it took me 5 to 6 weeks before I started feeling better. Unfortunately, it just takes time and patience to heal.

Good luck and I will be lifting you up in prayer.
