mri results

i was involved in a car accident in december and recently had an mri and this is what was found:

cervical mri: disc herniations at c4-5, c5-6 and more significant at c6-7 with significant central canal and right lateral recess stenosis at the c6-7 levels. there is straightening of the normal lordotic curvature which may represent muscle spasms.right side root encroachement

lumbar spine: straightening of the normal lordotic curvature may represent muscle spasms. left paracentral disc herniation at the l5-s1 levels.

this is from a bad car accident in december which i was not at fault, how bad are these results? should i get a lawyer?

Re: mri results

Hi Rc,
I would ask the question “why not get a lawyer” ? You have injuries , at some point these injuries will cost you in pain, money, lost wages and hospital bills. You need to have someone on the hook. Believe me unless you are wealthy a back injury can cost you your standard of living. Go see a lawyer to document your claim of injury, just in case it turns out to be more then you thought.

Hope you are not in pain from your accident.

Re: mri results

Have you ever had any issues prior to the accident?

I would also obtain a lawyer and not sign off on anything insurance wise until you talk to the lawyer. Not to scare you but with a back injury, you never know what the long term effects are going to be down the road. We pray that you have resolution soon. However, you may have medical insurance problems, disability, surgery, etc.

I pray that you find the answers you are searching for and that your back pain is short lived.

Re: mri results

Definately get a lawyer, you have two years from the accident in which to file a claim. Which gives your neck and back time to decide if it will heal, in which I hope is what happens for you, or if it is going to get worse between now and then. You definately don't want to get stuck with the bills and lost wages etc. The accident I was in last July that I think caused my disc herniation, the guy had no insurance. I assure you that it is quite an out of pocket expence, thank God for health insurance and short term disability. Usta

Re: mri results

Yes they can but if you are having any undiagnosed arm pain you should seek medical attention. We are not doctors just normal people who live with back and neck pain every day.
