Seven years ago I had L5-S1 successfully fused, one year late I had L4-L5 sucessfully fused. Things have been going well enough since my two surgerys, but now I am getting left leg calf numbness and both of my feet are numb. I hate to go back to the surgeon, he has done pretty much all he can do. Does anyone know if L3-L4 would cause leg and feet numbness. Although I have no bad backpain, I have some stiffness and pain about the L3-L4 level. I know it could also be scar tissue, but I cannot find any info on how long it take to grow the scar tissue.
I had a lumber laminectomy with rods and screws on my L4 & L-5 almost 6 years ago and I am now suffering from chronic pain, widespread muscle cramps, numbness, arms hands and feet and my CT scan just revealed that it is from a circumferential bulging disc with posterior central disc protrusion at L3- & L4 and changes from the previous lumber surgery. I was DX with degenerdive disc disease back then and it just keeps getting worse. I'm only 43 and a mother of 2. So yes your pain can come from that. When the nerves involved it can cause havoc to your body.
Good luck, but have it checked
You didnt state how the fusion was preformed. If it was the Xlif procedure this is pretty common. we are finding out after having it done. They dont tell us about anterior thigh paain or nerve damage as a result of surgery. Also there is a condition I was diagnosed with in relation to my horrible pain, numbness, weakness and partial paralysis called CRP type two. It hurts toeven touch the leg, shave it, have sheets on it at times etc..... Look it up
