I had a spinal neck injury that was so bad I couldn't even sleep in a bed for 6 months. Instead, I slept in a recliner every night. I had a series of very bad disk bulges in my neck.
I have since had a somewhat miraculous recovery by using weights as part of my exercise program. The key is to start slow light and easy. As you heal, you can increase the weight and the intensity.
