Scar Tissue after Hemi-Laminectomy

Hi, I had a very squished sciatic nerve from a L5/S1 herniation. I was in excruciating pain until surgery on Aug 20, '08.

I am now experiencing what my chirpractor thinks is the scar tissue around the nerve of the sciatic nerve. I have these questions... will it get better? Is walking, swimming, etc., helping or hindering thie scar tissue issue. My chiropractor thinks we can get it to break up with some stretching and gentle manipulation. He gave me stretches and exercises to do in addition to my walking. Have you gotten any relief and if so how?

Re: Scar Tissue after Hemi-Laminectomy

Hi, I can't help you in terms of relief as I'm still suffering from other problems, but i have been told a few times that the scar tissue becomes more elastic with time and that exercises that work and stretch the scar tissue will speed this process up...

hang in there
