nerve damage and pain

has anyone every had an mri that shows damage to the disc protruding and attaking the nerves causing severe pain and limited mobility on one side only for second mri scan 6 months later to find that the disc is being absorbed back into the body and still in severe pain on both sides hips and back, any advise please.
