| Re: Radiofrequency Neurotomy questions
Hi! I have had the radiofrequency ablation done several times. It really helps with my pain! I have it done at L3, L4 and L5 facet joints where I have bad arthritis. I had the testing done and my doctor recommended the RFA. It lasts about 8 months for me, and it can be repeated. The procedure takes about 45 minutes, and is done with light sedation. Each level is "burned" for about 90 seconds. Afterwards you are sore for a few days. Then for a couple weeks you can go about your business, but I have to take breaks throughout the day and ice/take medicine. After about 3 weeks you really feel the pain relief. I hope your bf gets some relief! Let us know how it goes. Take care, Kera4
