fifteen years post op laminectomy pain

I exercise a lot and now am finding sciatic pain is returning. I am 15 years post op laminectomy and have been exercising since. i am worried that this new pain may mean a new injury, or is it common for pain to return this many years post op? I have drop foot and nerve damage since the surgery, so that is nothing new. thank you very much
