removal of fusion hardware from L4-5,L5-S1 fusion

Had this Sx in 2/2006. It was a revision of L4-5 and fusion of L5-S1. They were unable to remove the screws at L4-5 on one side, preventing the extension of the fusion on the left. The double level fusion is only on the right side with screws, plates, and cadaver bone. Ever since I have had back pain, spasms and knots at the level of the fusion just adjacent to the spinal column mostly on the right that feel like a needle stabbing me. It seems to be over the area of the screws. I am exercising doing yoga, pilates and low impact. Ever since the Sx there has been a definite correlation between increased exercise and increased pain in the localized spot mentioned above. I like to exercise and am very frustrated. Would removal of the hardware be a recommended option for me?
