Re: Spinal Fusion and Laminectomy TOMORROW

good luck, i have no regrets, so far i'd say i'm better than i expected 1 week post op. take a xanax before you go in, they treated me so good in the hospital after surgery, anytime i started feeling pain (and they were there asking me often) they gave me a shot in my iv. pain is there, but nothing like pre surgery. i can tell it is healing pain now. sciatic nerve was crushed...BUT all that nerve pain is gone. amen.

Re: Spinal Fusion and Laminectomy TOMORROW
I completely concur...Follow doctors orders to a tee.

I had a 2 levels done in 2003, no fusion though. Don't try to recover to quickly, but do walk often when you can. Don't rush, it will take time to recover. What helped me so much is warm water therapy. Once my staples came out, my doctor sent me to warm water physical therapy, it helps a ton!

If you are in pain, take your pain meds. Don't try to tough it out it will slow down your recovery.

Having had several surgeries, the most nervous time is just waiting in your bed waiting for them to take you back. Once your back there, it will feel like a split second and then your waking up in the recovery room. Will be sending up a prayer for ya...
tracy i answered you in this thread somewhere...
