Re: SI Joint Pain

I had an SI nerve ablation and it REALLY helped. The total effect lasted for a year and I haven't had to go back and have it done again yet, but it's always an option.

Re: SI Joint Pain

I have SI joint pain...I also have had a previous fusion from S1-L4. I did have the sacroiliac joint pain shots...they did offer temporary relief for me. I am hoping the next step of ablasion will be a littler longer lasting than the shots were.

I also have one out of three practices telling me my screws are fractured at the sacral level....

....a complete wait and see guessing game...sweatpea and ttetronis give EXCELLENT advise!

Re: SI Joint Pain

I went back to my physiatrist yesterday. She told me there was nothing left she could do for me and sent me on my way back to Emory.

When I asked her about the xray report from Emory, she said...twice...it doesn't matter because they will have to re-work all of my hardware to extend my fusion to L3.

Still no short term disability, but I have applied to social security and they actually have called me twice and seem concerned.

3 months now with no income = NO GOOD>

Re: SI Joint Pain

Whew,SI joint pain sure seems like a coin toss if one will ever get relief.Altho out of all the fusions it seems SIBone fusion with the pins seems to be the one that has the most positive results. Scary stuff.

This is because the older method of SI fusion has such an abysmal success rate.

I had mine done in December with the 3 screws/pins with titanium covers. So far, so good. It is healing very well and pain is gone from the right side. Pain starting to go to left side now, but nothing like what it was. I just can't sit for long periods (30 minutes or more), but I do feel better. Has been 5 months, but will take 9-12 months probably to fully heal. Will know more then, haha. Good luck
