anyone thats had a similar fracture i could sure use some input as to what to expect, how long to heal, ways to help with the pain etc.
Hi, hey you. I definetly would not recommend seeing a chiropractor...not with a cracked vertabrae! Instead, find a good spine specialist; that would be either a neurosureon or orthopedic surgeon with a fellowship for treating spine issues. These doctors limit their practices to spine and neck problems only and see no other kinds of problems. They can best know what kind of imaging you might need and the best treatment for you. Until then, seeing a chiro can cause you more damage and it isn't worth the chance.
There is no way to know how long it will take to heal, as we all heal at our own rate.....much will depend on where the craced vertabrae is, how bad it is, etc. You can best help yourself by not doing things that cause pain. Avoid lifting, twisting, and any motion that hurts.
Could you tell us where the pain is and what kind of pain you are having? That could help us to pin things down and perhaps make more suggestions to help while you wait to see the doctor.
I hope you will let us know how you are and what you find out about your injury. Best of luck!
