My twenty year old son had a laminectomy performed in Jan 2011 on L5 lower back. His symtoms are odd in that he can not sit down without pain so college is being put on hold. His Laminectomy after three months has done nothing to improve his pain. I am so happy that it is not worse though. He is very active, but sitting is not possible. We have our post surgery appointment with the neourosergeon next week. My question is can anyone help with what questions should I ask besides the obvious one of why did it not help. He has another MRI before the appointment so we will have a new post surgery look. The bulging disk is between L4-L5 on right side. Does anyone think it is strange that it is only irritated when sitting with no siatic nerve pain down legs at all.
