Re: Can a muscle imbalance cause scoliosis?
Is there a particular reason why one side of your body is weaker, like due to injury, or a congenital problem, etc.? How long have you had scoliosis? There are a number of different kinds.
Without knowing any details, I would say that yes, one type of scoliosis, functional scoliosis, can be caused by muscle imbalances or other problems somewhere else in the body, like having one leg shorter than the other, having back muscle spasms, etc. I don't know if other types of scoliosis could be caused by muscle imbalance....
