Sharp back pain wont go away

I'll start off with some general info about myself. I am an 18 year old male i am 5 foot 9 inches and weigh about 215 pounds. I have a small case of scoliosis. My spine bends slightly to the right side of my body. I am very active i lift weights and run for 40 minutes to an hour everyday. This back pain started about 2 weeks ago on Thursday July 28th. It was a usual day at the gym i had just finished weightlifting and was moving onto running. I ran a mile on the treadmill then switched to an elliptical something i do all the time. About 2 minutes in i noticed a sharp pain in back in my middle upper back. On the left side of my body kind of by my lower shoulder blade. I want to say in between my shoulder blade and spinal cord but closer to my shoulder blade. i didn't think much of it and continued on. The pain got progressively worse until i couldn't bare running any longer i had ran for 10 minutes on the elliptical and about 18 minutes total if you include the treadmill. This pain was constant and worsened if I moved my back to much and it even hurt to breathe in too deeply. I didn't have the chance to go see my doctor Friday so i had to wait until Monday. By Monday the pain was already going away on its own but it was not completely better. My doctor felt my back, He then massed with my neck and spine to try to pop something back into place. This did nothing for the pain. He then put me on a muscle relaxer that he instructed I take once before i go to bed for the next week. I did this for a week and for the first 4 days the pain was going away. After those four days the pain stopped getting any better and since then has not gotten better. It has now been 16 days and i have not noticed the pain disappearing at all for 6 days. At this point i only notice the pain if i move my back into certain positions and if i start jogging the pain returns when i breathe in. Any ideas if this is muscle or bone related or what the problem is even in the first place?

Feel free to ask me any questions if you need to.
And responses would be appreciated. I thank anyone who responds ahead of time.
