Feeling Low

I am at a point now where I'm hoping to find validation and hope in these message boards. It's now almost six month after an accident where a car hit my car while I was working. He ran a red light. He changed my life.

I have physical pain much of the time. It's better and worse again. I worked so hard to get to where I was. What this has done to me and the lack of control that I have now is killing me. Now I've started to become depressed. The intensity of it and the feeling of it is a feeling that is strange to me. It feels difficult to control. I don't know if it is because I hit my head in the accident. I don't know if it's all the pressure from the last six months. I don't know if it's PTSD.

I'm honestly looking at the clock and thinking that I have another hour to cry before my kids get home from school and I have to try to maintain some control of my emotional turmoil for their sake. I feel lost, cold, tired, desperate. I need somebody's advice.

Re: Feeling Low

Are you suffering from back problems? I don't know if you noticed, but this is the board for people who are having problems with their backs or necks...which is fairly common after a car accident...but, you didn't mention anything in particular.

If you have questions in that regard, we may be able to offer suggestions. Just from your brief description, and not knowing what may be physically wrong with you from your injuries, it is difficult to respond. It sounds like you might benefit from some counseling. Perhaps your family doctor or internist could recommend someone who could help you adjust to what has happened.
