Swelling of legs
both of my legs where my socks are swell daily,they are loose but they still swell,very painfull calves to touch,failed fusion l-4-5 in 1993 terrible rleg pain behind knee into calves.is this related to lower back problems. Rick pa

Don't put off the swelling of your legs as being related to your fusion. Pain yes, swelling not likely. Have your physician check out the swelling to find possible other causes.

I would concur. Call your physician. The pain in the calf could be from a blood clot or similar issue that might need immediate attention. Do not assume it is something from your back problems.

I have had back surgery and no swelling. How ever I do have swelling in my legs from edema. or Lymphedema. I cant say for yours but mine is from a bad liver.I would just about bet your swelling is not from your back. You do need to get it checked out because it meens there is something else wrong. Maybe something as simple as to much salt in your diet or something much more serious.
