I have never had a spinal fracture myself but did run a rehab unit about 45 years ago for a couple of parachute regiments and were never short of spinal patients. I don't suppose compression fractures are any differrent nowadays. We can presume it was not a "burst" fracture or you would have neurological changes and would not contemplate a tour of duty to the Kyber pass. Ours all did well that I remember and returned to full duty. Mind you Paras are tougher than most!
