post surgery did you return to same job?

Just curious how many returned to their current job, how many had to.find an entirely new job/ career, how many had to.either cut down from.full time to.part time, and lastly, how many could not return to work.at all?

Re: post surgery did you return to same job?

I returned to my same job 12 weeks after my discectomy, I had a very physical job that involved frequent lifting, bending, etc. I had occasional back pain, but was mostly manageable.

I recently re-injured my back, but it was not work related. I continued in the same job up until August of this year and my surgery was over 2 years ago

No because as per company rules, I was no longer able to perform their lifting requirements of up to 50 pounds. I got a paltry 30k settlement and booted out the door from what people consider the greatest store in the world, Wal*art. That's like their toilet paper budget for a year there in Bentonville.
Must be nice.
And no, I haven't been able to find work since. (April 2010-present)

Re: post surgery did you return to same job?

So sorry. That's what I'm facing. I didn't make it through 6 months probation, so no light duty exists. They are holding mg job, or saying that, but my Dr won't let me lift 50-100 lbs ever again, so when he releases me, January or later, I know we will have to part ways. J have an attorney, as while they documented and don't deny and I have a witness, I hurt on the job, the claims adjuster from the ins co They hire denied me. I don't have much back complaint, but recently tons of Aweful leg and foot pain, so.I can't fathom working ever at the moment, though I miss it dearly and can't imagine never working again. I too, work for a major airline company.
