Gymnastics injury

I hurt my back while i was doing gymnastics. It's not bad and i didn't even feel it until i stopped at the end of class, but now it hurts and i feel like i'm going to puke. What do you think i should do?

Re: Gymnastics injury

Where is your pain? Do you think it is muscular in nature?

I would suggest you lie down and use ice/cold gel pack on your lower lumbar back (I'm assuming that's where it hurts. If not ice the area of back where it hurts.) It is important to try to keep it from swelling. You can use ice for 15-20 minutes per hour as often as needed, being careful to protect the skin.

Also if you can tolerate them, take a NSAID like Advil or Aleve, following directions on package.

Let me know if it is in your lower spine, OK?

Re: Gymnastics injury

Thanks i'm doing what you said and its helping already. I don't think it is my spine that i hurt more the muscles, they are pretty sore. I probably will be fine soon. Thanks again.
