Nerve study...

My right foot has been tingling for months. I thought it was related to my cervical problems, but the nerve study today revealed it's my lower back. Does this mean I have to stop my walking routine? This is the only exercise I get since I can't workout anymore due to the neck trouble.

Re: Nerve study...

No, walking remains the best exercise for someone with a lumbar spine issue. It will not affect whatever nerve compression you may have, anymore than sitting in a chair, which would actually be worse for you!

Could they tell what is causing the nerve compression or are you scheduled for a lumbar MRI?

With my HMO, everything is one step at a time. have to follow up with the neurologist, and your guess is probably right that they will order and MRI to see what is wrong. Good news is that maybe I can continue to avoid neck surgery. Bad news is that I might need surgery on my lower back!
Don't get old.

As a friend of mine is fond of saying, "Getting old is not for sissies."
