| Re: Spine advice?
Kyphosis is a curving of the spine that causes a rounded or "humped" appearance in the upper back. It can occur at any age, but when it develops during adolescence it is called Scheuermann's disease. It is caused by the "wedging" together of several vertebral bones in a row. They don't really know what causes it to develop. It can be a part of a scoliosis issue.
Since there are other causes of kyphosis other than spine problems, I think you should get it checked out to see what you are dealing with. I would suggest you make an appointment with an orthopedic spine surgeon or a neurosurgeon whose practice is limited to the neck and back. You will get the most accurate diagnosis from one of these two specialties.
