work comp dilemma

Been under care of work comp in Colorado for 2 1/2 years now...
Latest was artificial disc replace went 4months as ago.. going to pt and slowly working on strengthening the core...main Dr wants to close me out and get a maximum medical improvement rating in about 2 months..but I know it takes longer than that to progress and feel less pain...just we wondering what I can do to convince the primary care dr to quit getting to just end all care from the insurance coverage? Anyone have this type of issue? I do have have attorney and wondering if they are the key to help me to continue to receive care with the system

Re: work comp dilemma

once your back is injured through work would they not cover your back injury until you are completely healed? Also usually when you hurt your back to these extremes does the company not give you full coverage on your back if it is due to your injury for the rest of your life? Maybe it is only certain instances or if you make a deal with your company but i know a few people that have their backs covered for life due to an injury at work.

Hi mikelite, My husband hired a lawyer to be my advocate in settling with the wc insurance & I got 7 years full medical. My neurosurgeon waited 2 years & still didnt release me so hopefully your surgeon will be able to watch your progress longer & keep you in his care, not the primary dr. Is this a possibility?

Re: work comp dilemma

That's what I want to make sure of, the medical coverage..thanks all for input...is it typical primary care Dr always wants to move you to mmi ? Think it may be too soon to release just yet? Still fighting the fight with physical therapy...
