Layman terms

I have neck MRI but don't understand what it means

Main key words are

loss of signal
degeneration
straightening to the cervical lordosis
small osteophytic bar
focaL indentation
annular bulge

Is there anything I can do to help degeneration?

Not Really

DDD is just aging of the disks. Based on our own genetics we each progress differently. My 65 year old disks are degenerated like those of the average 80 year old.

You can manage the symptoms/manifestations of DDD by your life style choices and by medical intervention when it is affecting other components of your spine.

Re: Layman terms

If you read through other posts, you'll notice that some people post the report from the radiologist. When you post terms out of context it is difficult for others to try to explain what they might mean. For example, "degeneration." Without knowing what this is referring to, it could be describing numerous issues...discs, facet joints, etc.
