Re: Epidural injections in Thoracic spine
Has anyone had these and have they been successful?
Hello lilbitmatthews, I have had numerous rounds of 3 epidural steroid injections & they worked for about 3-6 months each time to relief some of the pain but mine were lumbar. My son had one esi & had tremendous results, his bulging/herniated disc @ L5 was completely resolved. I truly hope that the injections help relief your problems in your back. I was put to sleep everytime i had esi's done, my son was mildly sedated only. My best advice when having esi's is from my dr who instructed me to rest as long as i could 3 to 5 days because he puts the steroid as close to the affected nerve root & activity increases circulation which makes the steroid absorb & the longer i rested the longer the steroid/medicine treats the nerve. I hope that this helps you & of course, follow your drs instructions, this is just my experience. God bless you.
