Smile Looking for non-narcotic pain relief

I'm now 7+mos. s/p bilat. excision of herniated disc at L5-S1. I now have scar tissue and what the surgeon is calling fatty tissue pressing on the S1 nerve root. Now experiencing nerve pain and numbness and tingling from S1 down both legs, this varies some. I do have some nerve damage on the right side, decreased sensation. I DON'T LIKE NARCOTICS! I had an epidural May 1,'13, I had an anaphylactic reaction to the dye they used. This only worked for 2 wks. Seeking relief!

Re: Looking for non-narcotic pain relief

Have you tried any of the medicines for nerve pain. There is Lyrica, neuronton, cymbalta just to name a few. With the pain you are describing, narctotics probably wouldn't help much anyway.

Tell your doctor you want something for nerve pain.

Good luck to you.

Re: Looking for non-narcotic pain relief

There is a homeopathic medicine I have used that worked as well as narcotics, but is not a narcotic. It is called Cobroxin. It is actually cobra venom, and I know that sounds strange, but it really does work!! Look online and you will see testimonials from people who have tried it. It takes a couple days to build up in your system. I started it, and by the third or fourth day, I felt back to my normal self. I was amazed!! I feel the oral spray is better than the cream because then it works systemically and can get all the pain. And no, I don't sell this stuff, I sound like I would, but I am just a happy user. You may need to order it online if you can't find it at your local drugstore. Mine didn't have it so I ordered it online. If you do try it, please come back and report how it works after a couple days!! Good luck to you!!
