Please recommend a cleanser that cleans makeup but does not dry skin - Beauty & Cosmetics Message Board

Eventhough I have normal to oily skin, I do not want to use any of those cleansers made for oily skin anymore, they just dry it out and mess up the natural balance. I really need a facial cleanser that removes make-up, but keeps skin from drying... It has to be something I can get from Wal-Mart or a drugstore, or *maybe* from The Body Shop or something like that, but nothing you have to order online or purchase from a dermatologist. Also, it has to be something that doesn't clog pores. I would use the regular Dove bar, but it is a much too high pH level for the face, so I don't want to use that either, perhaps the new Dove line for the face would be good? Please recommend something. I'd SO much appreciate it! Thank you.

I see that you mentioned that you don't want to use the regular dove bar, but what about the one for sensitive skin? I've been using it for a few months now and my skin loves me for it.

I would recommend Cetaphil sold at Walmart or Walgreens.

Thanks for the replies. Surrealmeal, I think all the Dove soaps have the same pH level so I don't use on my face, also because soap is clogging to the pores, but I use it on my body. Abbey32, I'm using Cetaphil already, just started back using it a few days ago, but I don't know if it cleans makeup very well. Actually my skin has completely dried out and peeling from some over-drying products I used and I"m trying to deal with that too. So I think the Cetaphil is good, but I need some great moisturizer. i would strongly suggest the new dove for face line. i have been using it for several months now. and i love it. it doesn't dry or make my face oily. i didn't care for the non- foaming cleanser, so i started using the exfoliating cleanser that dove makes. i use the liquid on my face and it seem to have cleared up all my blotches and pimples. its also good for the rest of the body, but i only use it on my body once a week. for some reason i am afraid to get used to using such nice soap.
the day lotion is really nice for winter time when my skin has a tendency to be dry and icky from the wind. use it very sparingly, because used liberally, it does cause an oily feeling.
