Every time I get my blond highlights done, they turn brassy within the 1st 2 weeks. How can I get rid of the brassiness and is there a way I can get my highlights to stay BLOND, not brassy and brown! it drives me crazy because I spend a lot of money on them. I have tried a ton of shampoos like the violet ones and the for blondes line by John Freda and Biolage voilet conditioner, and Bed Head blond. None seem to work!

I see women with baby blond highlights and I wonder how the heck they keep it that way.

If you get this done at a salon and they have recommended a shampoo for you to use and the highlights turn brassy...maybe the salon should redo the highlights for you at no charge!?

You say you've tried violet based shampoo's but have you tried the one called shimmer lights (by clairol but I've only seen it at the beauty supply stores)? It's the most concentrated one that I've found. You can also leave it in a few minutes (but not too long because it can stain really light hair). Also do they leave the toner on your hair long enough after you highlight it? Let them know about this. I agree with going back if you aren't happy with the colour that soon after it was done. I was a hairstylist and those things happen. We don't mind fixing we just want you to be happy!

I really don't think it's the hairdresser's fault as I have been to many different ones! And I know I am not the only blond who gets dark and brassy within weeks. I think everyone fades and it has a lot to do with the water and the shampoos. No, I have not tried that one...maybe I will next. Thanks.

What does a toner do?? I have only had one stylist use a toner before and she said it was to tone down the bright blond...which I didn't want anyway because I want it bright blond...like baby blond highlights. So, why the toner?
