should i put it just on the ends? how long do i leave it on for? and how much do i use? like if i was using a dropper how many drops? |
It sounds like you used too much. I usually use jojoba, but almond & jojoba are about the same consistency. I usually put about 10 drops of oil in my cupped hand, then lightly rub my palms together. Then I start with the ends of my hair - lean forward, put one hand on one side of my hair, the other hand on the other side of my hair, push my palms together & run my hands over the ends. I repeat this entire process 3 times - right side, left side, & back - using a total of 30 drops. Next, I put 10 more drops in my hands & smooth my hands over my hair from the roots down - and I only use 10 drops for the entire head from the roots down to where I have already applied the oil. Then I run my hands through my hair several times, and twist it up & away from my face & neck - using a clip to hold it.
I usually leave the oil on for about 20-30 minutes. Then shampoo as usual. I never have to shampoo more than twice to remove the oil.
If you tend to have oily hair, you may want to switch to jojoba oil. Jojoba oil will help balance the oil production.
