Exclamation Trying a soap cap for the 1st time....

I kinda need help, the stylist told me everything to buy and how it would help but I didn't ask if I needed to wet my hair first like I would do with a shampoo. Should I get it wet and then let it dry some til it's damp then put the mixture into my hair? I'm kinda new at this because I am just trying to fix my deep dark brown hair that was supposed to be medium brown, please help, thanks.

P.S. I have the developer (4 oz.) and I'm supopsed to add 1 oz. conditioner and the rest shampoo, so I just need to know if I wet my hair first
Thanks.

Hi Browncat:
I don't know anything about the soap cap, but my mother washes her hair with dawn liquid detergent to fade her color when the dye comes out a bit darker. After that she uses a heavy conditoner or even mayonaise at times.

If you have tried this yet, let us know how it came out. I did this many years ago, and it did brighten up my hair, although at the time I don't think I had any color on it, or if I did, it was semi-permanent.

I have some highlights now, that I thought this might lighten it a tiny bit.
