What makes eyes brighter and bigger? - Beauty & Cosmetics Message Board

I have tried the white eyeliner trick-nothing works. I want the whites of my eyes to be brighter and the green to be greener. Bigger eyes too...more drama. Can not get it to look that way. What works?

Try using lilacs and purples as colors on your eyes. They make green eyes pop! I think it is almay that has a new plum mascara too.

The lilac is a good idea. Also, you can use eye drops before you put your make-up on because that will really get them white, and that's what all the photographers use when they shoot a model for a cover or magazine.

What also works well for me is to take a black eyeliner (one that glides smoothly, but not liquid) and make a line from corner to corner right above your top lashes but so close to the lashes that it is almost on top of the lashes. Then also use blackeyeliner on the bottom lashes -but the one thing you do different (and this makes all the difference in the world!) is to make the line on and above the lower lashes. It is kind of like coloring your lashes. Do this from corner to corner as well, then put on some black mascara and your eyes will pop! The first time I did this my husband went crazy! He loves it so much that I do it every day now. Let me know if you try it.

PS I forgot to add that since I started doing my eyes this way, people stop me all the time to tell me how pretty my eyes are! They really stand out I guess.

With the shadows, use the darkest colors in the crease and the brightest color or a creamy white under your brows. The white should be under your arch and then on the inside corners of your eyes.
I have green eyes and a maroon or grey liner will help them stand out (as well as will black...but the springy colors are in right now). However, lining the bottom of your eyes all the way will make them look smaller. Only line from the outside of the bottom to about 1/2way in. I do this and then I use a stiff brush to place some pearly white shadow from 1/2way to the inside corner.
Every photographer I have worked with loves my eyes!
Do you have thick brows? If so you may want to shape them and thin them slightly to open up your eyes...but not too much b/c thin isn't in!

Oh yea.... don't try to get your eyes as white as a cover models....those whites have been retouched and whitened!!!!!! Trust me...I know straight from the source. Of course they retouch a lot of flaws.
However, many makeup artists do use eyedrops in models eyes before a shoot if they are needed. I actually had one compliment me on how white my eyes were w/out drops. I think it is very much due to a healthy diet. If you eat your fruits and veggies you will improve the health and beauty of your eyes.
