Unfortunately I have smelly feet. I use foot powders and stuff and they work well with the smell. The problem is when I wear flip flops I can't put on the foot powder because it leaves white stains on my shoes. What should I do?
I have been using this method for about 1 year now, and it is great....
Rubbing alchohol, the 70% one. I keep some in a plastic spray bottle and spray my feet and shoes if needed. I try to spray my shoes every night when I take them off, and my feet in the morning. I was told this helps kill bacteria that causes odor.
Are you sure it isn't athletes foot? Normally,i use a foot odor spray with baking soda as the active ingredient to keep my shoes fresh, and cut down of foot funk.Vinegar is supposed to be another good odor removing agent, and exfoiliating your feet helps too.

Also, be sure to rotate shoes from day to day as you wear them.
When not wearing them, put baking soda or a good foot powder in them and let them sit a day or two.
Use a foot soak ocassionly with a few drops of tea tree oil in it.
The alcohol tip is good, too.
Go barefoot at home whenever possible
When your feet are dry, like when wearing flip flops, you shouldn't smell an odor.
You could have some kind of foot fungus, instead of atheletes foot, as that usually makes your feet, mostly toes blister and itch. Do your feet feel damp most all the time? Could be an excessive sweating problem.
