I have recently gotten a really dry scalp that flakes sometimes. It is weird because my hair gets oily after a day or so without washing. Here is my problem..... I color my hair and dandruff shampoos strip the color something terrible. SO what should I use and still keep my color???????????

Any ideas would be great!!!!Thanks!!!!!

Have you tried T-gel? It smells kinda funky, but works great. I have the same problem with my hair, only I do not color my hair. Do you absolutly have to color you hair? Work on getting your hair back to healthy and then color it. It could just be a seasonal change. That happens sometimes.

Is your dandruff like a greasy dandruff, or what? Dandruff is caused by either dry scalp, build up of chemicals, or a condition called pityriasis. Is is a greasy dandruff or what? If it is it could be pityriasis. (Sore-eye-a-sis) If that is the case than you will have to go to the doctor and get medication. If it is just dry scalp than yes t-gel will work, or you can dry applying sea breeze to your scalp and rub it in. If it is shampoo build up than you can get a stripping shampoo, or just simple mix your everyday shampoo with baking soda and make a paste. hope that helps

Try a dandruff shampoo called Nizoral. I had hair just like yours, if I didn't wash for a day or two it got greasy especially at the roots, but the dandruff would still flake off. Aside from washing daily (which I found would damage the hell out of my hair when it was long) I used this stuff.

It worked wonders for me, it's available OTC in Canada but I'm not sure if you still need a prescription for it in the states. It's pink and kind of funky smelling, it kills a fungus that can cause dandruff.
