Hair dye fades really quick- any advice? - Beauty & Cosmetics Message Board

Hey everyone! Whenever I dye my hair the colour always fades, despite the fact I always use permanent dye. I usually use Feria by Loreal. I have brown hair but I usually dye it ree. I like when it rades to auburn after about 2 weeks but I dont like it when it stars to turn orange later!! I'm reluctant to get it done professionally cos a few of my friends had similar experiences when they got it done in a hairdressers. Any suggestions, anyone?!

All hair color will fade in time, even if its done in a salon. There are a few things you can do to prolong the color thou. Use gentle shampoo or those specially made for color treated hair (do not use Herbal Essence...this will strip your hair color). Do not go swimming in chlorinated water. If I'm sitting out by the pool or beach, I always have leave in conditioner that I apply to my hair right after I apply sun tan lotion.

But no matter what, I usually have to reapply color every 6-8 weeks. I also use Feria and its one of the few that at least doesn't turn brassy looking.
