Very Long Lashes... - Beauty & Cosmetics Message Board

Hi,
I naturally have extremely long eye lashes and it kind of makes it hard to apply mascara without making a huge mess. I get mascara above my eyes all the time. I heard that you have to apply mascara before you vurl but I always have to do the oposite. I found a mascara that works pretty good (Jane Fan Club) but sometimes because my eyelashes are so long they start going in all different directions. I really have a hard time with them lol and I'm just wondering if anyone else has this same problem and what they do about it.

I don't have that problem. But I think actually you are supposed to curl BEFORE you apply mascara... I always apply a light layer of mascara first, then curl, then apply another heavier coat.

if your lashes are so long, why do you wear mascara? are they thin?

They could be straight, or slightly downward.

I also have naturally extremely long lashes, and sometimes I use mascara just to tone down the somewhat "unfinished" look they have without it. Generally, though, just using a curler is more than enough for that.

For the original poster, curl first, then use a waterproof masacara, scrape most of it off the wand before applying, and apply mainly at the base, and sweep VERY LIGHTLY to the tip. That's really all you need.

I just like them a little darker and with it a little lift. It makes my eyes stand out even more and makes me look more awake.
