Can waxing make your hair grow back thicker? I've always heard that plucking will make hair grow back thicker and waxing will do the opposite. But aren't they very similar except waxing rips all your hair at once and plucking one at a time? I have some hair around my belly button. Would waxing make it grow back thinner? I don't want to do it if it's gonna make it worse lol.
Over time, it will grow back thinner and finer. Eventually, it may not grow back at all. But... this does not happen overnight. I have been waxing for years, and now I have very few hairs that still grow in the places I wax. I say go for it, it's worth a try, if you don't like it you can try bleaching it or something else.
waxing and tweezing will eventually cause your hair to grow back thinner and sparser. (that's why people are warned not to pluck their eyebrows too thin, because you never know when that hair will stop growing back.) i have tons of experience with waxing and tweezing and for sure have noticed thinner, sparser hair growing back.

yes, tweezing should be fine especially if there are very few hairs anyway. i've tweezed other stray hairs as well over the years. but the place i notice them not growing back as much is my eyebrows.
