I live in a very humid area. I have naturally wavy/curly hair, but I usually like to wear it straight. When I straighten it every morning, it looks nice inside my house, but as soon as I walk outside it curls up and gets puffy and frizzy

I've tried different products, but they haven't worked. How do some people repel the humidity and keep perfectly straight hair all day? What do they use, what's the secret? Thanks for any help!

I have just the opposite problem. I have perfectly straight hair and I blow it dry and have some body to it until I walk outside on a humid day. Then it looks like I just got out of bed and it is flat against my head.

We can't win.

A ceramic flat iron and a product made to de-frizz hair and repel humidity. Ive found that the Loreal Anti Frizz line works pretty good. Its in orange bottles and it really helps if you use the shampoo in conjunction with the straightening serum. But if its raining or if its really hot and humid...sometimes its just better to let your hair do its own thing in my opinion.

I know exactly what you mean. Whenever it rains or theres humidity, I have to tie it back. I've tried everything and it just keeps getting poofy and curly. A pony tail is the only thing I can suggest lol. Sorry.

I was going to recommend the ceramic flat iron too. I would avoid the gold or silver plate, and ONLY do the ceramic. It's much gentler on the hair, and considering your heating the heck out of your hair with the iron, I'd do it the most gentle way possible. You can now find them at some salons for about $60, and I think they're made by a company called Cricket.

Also, have you tried Frizz ease? I know you can get that at Target, Wal-Mart, etc. I've heard rave reviews about it but never tried it. Also, I would make sure you use a straightening syrum or spray before straightening your hair. Even if you're going for the Jennifer Anniston straight hair in Friends, keep in mind that they had to flat iron her hair every 20 minutes to keep it stick straight like it was.
