OT: engagement party gift - Beauty & Cosmetics Message Board

I know this is off topic, but I know this board gets a lot of traffic. My brother is having an engagement party. The bride's parents are throwing it and they are very wealthy, so its going to be a stuffy affair. Our family and most of our friends are not wealthy - just average people. My question is - should I buy an engagement gift? If so, can all of the brothers and sisters go in on one or should it be from each couple?

If I were you I would buy a fortuneoff gift card so you would not get offended if these rich people are picky and do not like your gift. Its a great store and the rich people will fit right in.
