Most of those skin treatments are purely cosmetic, and are PROBABLY (though this may vary) not covered by insurance. You can always check though. I have found that many at home skin treatments are as if not more effective as alot of dermatologist treatments. You can now do peels at home and home microdermabrasion is great!
I know people who said the stuff they do at home is more effective, and ten times cheaper. I bought a microdermabrasion cloth online, and the first time I used it I overdid it and ended up with very red, painful skin. But after I healed, I have been still using it and building up my skin's tolerance to it, and the lines in my forehead (which I have had since a teen) are gone!
The cloth looks like a washcloth, that is why I overdid it the first time. You think it isnt doing anything, and after the fact you realize that this thing works like crazy. I use it on my body too and NOTHING has exfoliated better! It faded scars, freckles, and eliminated fine lines. Unbelievable. I just use cetaphil afterwards to counter irritation. Wow. It has been ten times more effective than the at home microdermabrasion kits for me. You just have to start off gently!!!!
